Another baby boy!! - no don't worry I'm not pregnant again!

I wrote this over a year ago on the impending birth of our now almost one year old Ryan!!

So we have had another baby boy!
Hip hip hooray.
We are so damn excited...
*Another set of smelly nappies to change...
*more spew to clean up ...
*more sleepless nights and endless agrivation thinking "what is wrong with this child?" ...
*more weird words and mumbles for us to wonder "what on earth is this child saying to me?" ...
*more stressful, anxious, painful, paranoid worries when they can:
-reach the kitchen bench and open all the draws and pull knives out to play;
-open all the cupboard doors to bring pots out to bang so loudly that they giggle with glee and my ear drums fall to pieces;
-reach the stove top, open the grill and oven door to store coloured golf balls in;
-reach the fridge door and find apples to which they proceed to eat but then decide they dont like the peel and spit it out all over the floor until they get to the core and decide to try and eat that too (I'm so blocking off the kitchen) ...
Talking off food (or rather not food but they think its food) - there'll be:
*more finding them eating dead flies or an old crumb that was accidently left in the crevasse of the sofa ...
*more locking the door with a key so they cant just open it and walk down to the park whenever they feel like it (God help me when Joel learns how to use a key) ...
*more bath time messes with scooping out poo floating in the bubbles ...
*more scared thoughts of them hurting themselves (like when they are learning to walk and stand up under the dining table to bang their precious noggins) ...
*more wonder of are they too hot, too cold, are they comfy, hungry, thirsty, do they need a hug? do I need a hug ... I think I need a sleep ...

Yes, as I said WE ARE VERY EXCITED!!

The most wonderful thing in a mothers life ~ Seeing the twinkle in her childs eyes as they grin from ear to ear, a silent but powerful and evident "I love you Mummy".

There is only one "most beautiful child in the world", and every mother has it.
